Keeping up-to-date with the Brett & Amber Hinton family

A Wonderful Weekend

By hintbw - Posted on 05 March 2006

It was a busy weekend here at the Hinton home. We celebrated Brett's graduation from his Master's program and we also blessed Jared in Church on Sunday. We had lots of family here and it has been wonderful. Mom and Dad Ellis, Amber's brother John and his fiancee Rachelle Oborn, and Amber's sister Amy Bates came down from Idaho/Utah to be here for the events, in particularly the blessing of Jared. We also enjoyed having all of Brett's family who live here at the blessing.

To start with on Saturday night we had many of our friends and family over to celebrate Brett's recent graduation from his Master's in Education program at Grand Canyon University. We are glad he is finished, the last few weeks have been pretty busy/intense and Brett, Amber, and the kids are looking forward to things returning to normal. You can check out Brett's Master's portfolio at http://porfolio.hintonweb.com - it represents some samples of the different projects that he completed during the 1 1/2 years he was in the program. We tried out our grill for the first time and Dad Ellis made some mean hot dogs that everyone seemed to enjoy. It was a great time and we appreciate everyone that came to celebrate with us.

Sunday we had a wonderful day as we blessed Jared at our ward and had many family members there. It was a special occasion and made us reflect how grateful we are to have him as a part of our family. It was a wonderful weekend and we hope everyone that came down to be with us have a safe trip back.

Vote from Darris & Janna...
We like the first name Andrew....however, we are both partial to Darris being a middle name. First of all, the name Darris is a hard one and no one ever pronounces it right. (It might be okay as a middle name, because it won't be used as often.) Secondly, there are already 4 other members of the family that share this name in some way. Janna votes for her own version of Andrew Kevin. Darris says it is your baby, you choose.
Good luck.
